Mica Tape
for Conductor Insulation
This mica tape is used for insulation of copper conductors for high voltage motors and generators. It has excellent flexibility which gives good bonding to the copper conductor. We have two types; The VPI type uses a small amount of adhesive resin and has excellent impregnation properties. The Resin Rich type is a prepreg mica tape impregnated with epoxy resin. When it is subject to heat and pressure, the resin flows and cures forming the strong insulation layer without the need of vacuum pressure impregnation. One side or both sides of the tape can be coated with hot-melt resins as requested by our customers. SR854T has excellent cut-through resistance and is therefore a suitable conductor insulation material.
